I was looking at my collection of clothing I have and recently realized that I made up my fashion but it was random. My career is now pulling me at 50 to teach as a professional and speak so I knew I needed someone with fresh eyes help me make outfits with in outfits and also be a sound mind for me. Candice was and is my stylist from hear on out! She did a through intake- walk me through some Pinterest boards to see what grabbed while pushing new possibilities. Then she came to my closest and pulled all my fave pieces and found new ways to wear them and accessories plus a list of what I need to add to my collection! I hired Candice Freedman to support me in updating my professional and weekend wardrobe. As a middle aged woman, I was beginning to feel like my current style wasn’t serving me well and I was having trouble finding pieces that felt appropriate for my age, were true to my personality and highlighted my assets. After filling out my interest inventory and a couple of pictures of my current go-to outfits, Candice suggested we meet at a store in the Washington Square Mall. 

Initially, at her suggestion, I felt hesitant as I had shopped at this store several times in the last year and have literally found nothing - it was off my list.  When I entered the store Candice greeted me with the biggest smile, a warm hug and a dressing room with a few selected pieces on hangers. Her joyful spirit quite honestly put my nerves at ease and shifted my entire perspective from the start.  I felt like a teenager again as I began to try on several pieces, switching up combinations and at times playfully posing and twirling in the mirror. This felt like therapy! Candice has a true gift.  While our personal styles are not similar, she was able to easily assess my taste and curate pieces that aligned with my personal style.  When pieces didn’t feel right to me, Candice listened intently and was able to pivot in the moment and incorporate my feedback into her next selections. 

What was most surprising to me is that Candice pulled items off the shelf that I would have never thought about trying.  And, I fell in love with many of these pieces.  It was not only about her ability to find interesting selections, her true gift and talent lies in her eye and ability to put together interesting combinations and layering of items that turn clothing into an outfit, a style. Not only did I find a few new items to add to my closet, I learned so much about how to put different pieces together in configurations I would have never considered before!  This new confidence allowed me to reconsider my own closet and try out new layering techniques that gave old items new life!   

Finally, Candice not only honored my style and comfort level, she also worked within my budget. During our time together, Candice found a pair of shoes that I would have never tried on before, that I ended up adoring. The price tag was a bit high and I decided to hold off on the purchase. Before I got home, I had a text from Candice where she found a similar pair, that I actually preferred, from a resale site for ⅓ of the price! I cannot more highly recommend working with Candice to help you with your wardrobe styling needs. Not only is Candice an absolute blast to work with, she is a brilliant educator who leaves you with fresh ideas, a new perspective on style and confidence to try new items and combinations that leave you feeling, like a bombshell!
